İş Bankası ve Koç Üniversitesi; ülkemizin bilimsel ve akademik faaliyetlerine katkıda bulunmak, yapay zekâ alanında ileri düzeyde çalışmalar gerçekleştirmek amacıyla “Yapay Zekâ Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi” kuruldu. Merkez; ülkemizdeki bilimsel ve akademik faaliyetlere katkıda bulunmayı, yapay zekâ alanında ileri düzeyde çalışmalar gerçekleştirmeyi amaçlıyor.

Endüstri Mühendisliği Öğretim Üyemiz Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özekici, Yöneylem Araştırması Derneği Onur Ödülü’ne layık görülmüştür. Kendisini içtenlikle tebrik ediyor ve başarılarının devamını diliyoruz.

Koç University Chemical and Biological Engineering students competed with 3 projects in the 2nd Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Process Design Event (KIMMTE). KU students received First Prize, Third Prize and an Honorable Mention awards.

Participation was pretty high to the meeting of CE Alumni which took place after our faculty member from Electrical and Electronics Engineering department Prof. Dr. Özgür Barış Akan’s seminar on “Internet of Everything – From Molecules to the Universe”

Koç University BMSE Ph.D. student, Houman Jalali, won the Nanoscale Horizons Prize at the Tenth International Conference on Quantum Dots (QD 2018) in Toronto, Canada with his work titled “Synthesis of Bio-compatible Type-II InP/ZnO Quantum Dots”. In this work, he demonstrated neural interfaces using biocompatible Type-II quantum dots for the first time and the award was given by University of Toronto vice-president Professor Ted Sargent. Materials synthesis and characterization of this work were done in IDEALAB under supervision of Sedat Nizamgolu and the biocompatibility tests were carried out in Halil Kavakli Lab at Koç University.
