Awards and HonorsProfessor Kamil Yılmaz from the Department of Economics received the TÜBİTAK 2247-A National Leader Program Grant, 2021, with the project titled “Inflation Connectedness and the Gravity Model.” With this project, Professor Yılmaz intends to econometrically model how inflation shocks spread across regions of a country using the gravity model, a model that has been so successful in the international trade literature and identify the factors that have an impact on this process. Wholehearted congratulations to Prof. Kamil Yılmaz for this outstanding accomplishment and best wishes for his continued success.
UNIC Engaged Research Seed Fund - Dr. Özge Karanfil
Dr. Özge Karanfil, Assistant Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics and jointly at the School of Medicine, received a grant from the “UNIC Engaged Research Seed Fund” for her research project titled “A Systems Modeling Approach to Analyze Policy Implications of Multi-Cancer Blood Tests for Early Detection of Cancer in Community Medicine (SYM2CED).”
