UNIC Engaged Research Seed Fund - Dr. Özge Karanfil

Awards and HonorsDr. Özge Karanfil, Assistant Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics and jointly at the School of Medicine, received a grant from the “UNIC Engaged Research Seed Fund” for her research project titled “A Systems Modeling Approach to Analyze Policy Implications of Multi-Cancer Blood Tests for Early Detection of Cancer in Community Medicine (SYM2CED).” The project, to be conducted in collaboration with Prof. Maarten Ijzerman, the Dean of Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management and Professor of Cancer Health Services Research at Erasmus University, aims to evaluate the feasibility of a new class of genomic tests in a real-world context by gaining a thorough understanding of the system and interactions of its components to support policy decisions regarding maximizing health outcomes in cancer care. Funding for this small grant program is provided through the UNIC4ER Horizon 2020 project.
