Overview
Gülcan Bagcivan received her BSN from Gülhane Military Medical Academy School of Nursing in 2003. She completed her master's degree in 2008 and her doctorate in 2012 in Medicine Nursing at the same school. She also completed her master's in Epidemiology at Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences in 2018. She received the title of Associate Professor in 2018. Before her postgraduate education, she worked as a Medical Oncology clinical nurse at GATA Haydarpaşa Training and Research Hospital for one year and then as an occupational nurse in Kayseri for two years. She worked as a lecturer at the same school during her graduate education. She was a post-doc fellow in the U.S. between 2015 and 2017 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her post-doc fellowship, she conducted studies on palliative care. In 2017, she worked as an education nurse and training coordinator at Gülhane Training and Research Hospital for a year, and she has been working as a faculty member at Koç University School of Nursing since October 2018. She is a member of the Board Member and co-chair of the research working group of the European Oncology Nurses Society (EONS). She is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Power of Oncology Nursing (GPON) community.
