2022 TÜBA-GEBİP Awards

Awards and HonorsThis year, two distinguished scientists from Koç University received TÜBA-GEBİP Award, given annually to encourage, appreciate and reward scientists. We sincerely congratulate Assist. Prof. Sedef Turper Alışık from the Department of International Relations and Assist. Prof. Safacan Kölemen from the Department of Chemistry. Koç University ranks first in Turkey with 77 faculty members who have been awarded the TÜBA-GEBİP Award since its inception in 2001.
Working on political attitudes and migration studies, Dr. Sedef Turper Alışık contributes to the development of effective policies as well as academic writing on the social cohesion of immigrants. This year’s other recipient, Dr. Safacan Kölemen, with his research at the intersection of organic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry and chemical biology aims to develop drug candidates for cancer treatment and molecular sensors for bioimaging studies.
