The “Politus: AI-based Data Platform for Fair Social Policies” project proposal of Assoc. Prof. Erdem Yörük from our Department of Sociology has been accepted and awarded with a €150K grant for 18 months

Politus, which will provide real-time, retroactive, and statistically representative data on society and politics by using social media and other big data sources, was the first project to receive this support in the field of sociology from Turkey. The project will verify the innovation potential of computational social science and policy-related novel methods from Erdem Yörük’s ERC-funded Emerging Welfare Project. With the Politus Project, which promises to be one of the pioneers of the great revolution in social research methods, a data platform called Politus Analytics will be created. This data platform, which will be more effective than collecting data with the classical survey method, will be used both to understand social and political trends and to contribute to the design of fair social policies.
