Ph.D. education in nursing is an important step on the way to teaching staff, which enables the training of nurses who form scientific paradigms and carry out research activities that will improve the scientific infrastructure of the profession. With Nursing Ph.D. Education, you can think critically in the field of education, research, practice, and management, develop new approaches to solve problems, aim to go beyond the existing boundaries of knowledge, analyze and synthesize complex and contradictory ideas in order to redefine knowledge, combine research and development methods It is aimed to raise world-class nurses who can contribute to the development of research methods based on health problems, test the effectiveness of nursing models in the management of individuals with health problems, apply new paradigms by showing appropriate evidence, are sensitive to ethical dilemmas and value conflicts, and produce appropriate solutions.

Koç University Graduate School of Health Sciences Nursing Ph.D. / Direct-Ph.D. Program is conducted in Turkish. Within the scope of the Ph.D. / Direct-Ph.D. Program, both compulsory and elective courses related to the field of nursing, which the student can orient towards and in line with the needs, child health and disease nursing, internal medicine nursing, surgical diseases nursing, gynecology nursing, psychiatric nursing, public health nursing and management and nursing principles in nursing are conducted.

Doctoral programs are made up of a minimum of 7 credit courses with no less than 21 total credits, the Scientific Research Methods and Research and Publication Ethics course, one seminar course, the non-credit ENGL 500 and KOLT 500 courses that must be successfully completed at least once, the thesis course which the student must take every semester following the appointment of the advisor, and the non-credit TEAC 500 courses in which the student must enroll every semester during their education. The normal duration of the Ph.D. programs is eight semesters, and the maximum duration is twelve semesters.

Integrated (direct) doctoral programs are made up of a minimum of 14 credit courses with no less than 42 total credits, the Scientific Research Methods and Research and Publication Ethics course, one seminar course, the non-credit ENGL 500 and KOLT 500 courses that must be successfully completed at least once, the thesis course which the student must take every semester following the appointment of the advisor, and the non-credit TEAC 500 courses in which the student must enroll every semester during their education. The normal duration of the Direct-Ph.D. programs is ten semesters, and the maximum duration is fourteen semesters.

These include “KU Graduate Scholarship” funded by Koç University (%25, %50, %75, %100), BİDEB scholarship funded by TÜBITAK, Türkiye Scholarships, “Project-based Graduate Scholarship” co-funded by external sources such as TÜBİTAK, EU, industry through projects and Koç University. Nursing PhD program offers 100% scholarship (full exemption from tuition fees) for all candidates who meet the criteria.
